Erbium Oxide's chemical formula is Er2O3. It is a pink powder that easily absorbs moisture and carbon dioxide. It is slightly soluble in inorganic acids but insoluble in water. Erbium oxide can be used as a control material for nuclear reactors, an additive material for magnetic materials and phosphors, and a rose-red colorant for glass; it is also used to make infrared-absorbing and special luminous glass.
